A DAD has spoken of his terror after seeing his young son being mauled by a “crazed” rat.
Gholam Salehi said he feared the worst as the foot-long rodent tore at Amir’s face and eyes as he slept in bed.

The 37-year-old fought off the rat as it went for Amir’s throat and beat it with a baseball bat.

But the attack left his five-year-old lad with serious gashes on his face, hands and legs.
Gholam said: “It was going for his throat, trying to get into his mouth and get to his heart. I thought it had killed him. There was so much blood. The rat was crazed.

“When I was hitting it with the bat it was like metal, so hard. It wasn’t scared of me. It fought back and was very tough.”
Amir needed hospital treatment after his ordeal in the summer.

Unemployed Gholam blames the invasion on mess left after a party at a community hall near their home in Holloway, North London.
The dad of three added: “My neighbour told me they had seen rats outside our home. It must have come in through the window.

“People kept leaving rubbish outside my home. It must have attracted the rat. I don’t feel safe in my own home.” Islington Council said it found no evidence of any rats at the house or the community centre.
Last week The Sun revealed Pamela Hudson, 75, died weeks after being bitten more than 50 times by a rat in her care home.
