CONJOINED twins with two heads, four arms and two legs, who are fused together at the stomach have been born in India.
The twin brothers were born to mum Guddo Devi by caesarean section at a hospital in Badaun in the northern state of Uttar Pradesh.

Attached at the stomach, the baby boys have four arms but only two legs - meaning they share most of their vital organs.
While the babies are out of danger and doing fine at hospital, doctors have grim hope for their survival.

Dr Ruchi Gupta, the gynaecologist who delivered the babies, said: “This was the first such case in our hospital and we were all shocked to witness the birth of the child.
“We only learnt the mother was carrying a conjoined twin at the last moment.
“The babies are perfectly healthy and so we did not not keep them at an intensive care unit and rather handed them to their mother. But we cannot tell how long they will live as conjoined twins have a short life-span.”
Distressed parents Guddo Devi, 25, and her 27-year-old husband Dalvir Singh, who were too poor to have an ultrasound during the pregnancy, are planning to consult doctors at bigger, better hospitals to save their first children.
Dalvir said: “I never took her for regular medical check-ups or ultrasounds as her pregnancy was very smooth. She never complained of any problems throughout her pregnancy.

“We were excited for the arrival of our first child but when I saw the babies I could not believe my eyes.
“I had only heard of such births but never imagined I would have conjoined twins. My family is heartbroken but we have faith in God. Once the babies are discharged, I will take them to a bigger hospital and consult specialists for their separation.”
