Transgender woman accused of raping 15-year-old girl when she was a man

Davina Ayrton is accused of raping a 15-year-old girl when she was a man

A WOMAN has gone on trial accused of raping a teenage girl when she was a man.

Davina Ayrton, 34, formerly known as David, allegedly sexually assaulted the 15-year-old after the pair had been drinking alcohol in 2004.

Jurors at Portsmouth Crown Court heard the victim, who cannot be named for legal reasons, claim she tried to slap the then-25-year-old before he put weight on her and raped her.
Speaking on video she said: "I know it was over quickly but it felt like it was forever. He just lay on top of me, it must have been seconds but it felt like it was minutes. He just sat up as if it was nothing."

The victim then claimed she was unable to move one arm as it was against the back of the sofa and Ayrton held the other as he went to kiss her, leaving her "unable to breathe".
She added: "I'm sure there was a point I went to slap him but I couldn't move my arm. I said get off me. I said it three or four times. It was more his weight on me at that point.
"That’s when he was kissing my face, slobbering on my face. I couldn’t breathe."
She said Ayrton, who had medium-length greasy brown hair at the time, sat down after the rape, picked something up off the floor and left.

The victim claims she told few people about the sexual assault, which was reported to police around the time of the incident, but didn't want to discuss with officers then.
Chris Stopa, prosecuting, said Ayrton told a worker at the care home Heywood Summer House, where he lives, about the rape in 2014.
Stopa said Ayrton said "she had done something she shouldn't have done, she raped somebody" and police were called, who contacted the alleged victim again.
Addressing the jury, judge Ian Pearson said Ayrton has learning difficulties, adding: "At the time of this allegation in 2004 the defendant was a male with the name of David Ayrton."
Ayrton, of Heywood Summer House, South Gorley, Fordingbridge, denies one charge of rape between October and November 2004.
