The people of Ugwuaji Area in Enugu were in complete bafflement when dead bodies, buried in shallow graves were discovered in the foundation of a church building, Dailypost reports.

The construction of the building, whose owner is still unknown, began recently and builders were in process of laying foundation when one of the building workers found the bodies.

Policemen and other security officials were called to the scene and urged to find the perpetrators of the heinous crime.

The State Police spokesman, Mr Ebere Amaraizu, who confirmed the report said the corpses were recovered from the site following a tip-off.

“On information, three decomposing bodies were discovered and full scale investigations have commenced with a view to unmasking circumstances surrounding the incident,” he said.
