Michael Jordan jersey sells for record price

THE jersey Michael Jordan wore in his final regular-season game with the Chicago Bulls has fetched $244,000 at auction, according to a report from ESPN’s Darren Rovell.
It’s the highest price ever paid for a piece of Jordan memorabilia, surpassing the “flu game” shoes that sold for around $150,000 last year.
“No one who has been out of the game fewer than fifteen years has had items sell for these kinds of prices,” said Ken Goldin of Goldin Auctions, which sold the jersey and a pair of game-worn shoes from the 1996 NBA Finals for $50,000. “Michael Jordan is the collectable equivalent of Babe Ruth.”
Jordan’s final regular-season game in Chicago came against the New York Knicks on April 18, 1998. Jordan scored 44 points on 24 field-goal attempts and added three rebounds and three assists as the Bulls won 111-109. Jordan was 22-for-24 from the line in the game. He would later be named NBA MVP for the fifth time in his career.
