A COUPLE, who both had different partners, were shot to death as they had sex in the back of a SUV.
Shakoor Arline, 25, and Lisa Smith, 32, were cheating on their partners, Philadelphia Police Department Captain James Clark said on Monday (CT US time).
“I can tell you from the crime scene it appears to be very much a crime of passion,” Clark told reporters at a media briefing when the pair were named, Fox 29 Philadelphia reported.
“Somebody knew that they were in the park at that time and obviously had an issue with that.”

Between midnight Thursday and 5am on Friday, the killer stepped up to the vehicle parked in Fairmount Park, in the city of Philadelphia, as the couple had sex, opened the rear door and fired repeatedly with a .40 calibre handgun.
“We’ve got nine shots fired, all of them head shots, to both of the victims,” Clark said.
Arline, who lived nearby, was found naked and Smith, of northeast Philadelphia, partially clothed in the back of the white Toyota Sequoia.
“We know that they had a relationship but also they had outside relationships so obviously that’s where our investigation is gonna start,” Clark added.
Investigators were trailing through the couple’s mobile phone records on Monday and running fingerprints found on the car’s door, a law enforcement source added.
Police have spoken to a woman who was in a relationship with Arline and are looking to speak with a man who was involved in a relationship with Smith.

A park maintenance crew collecting rubbish found their bullet-riddled bodies in the back of a parked SUV around 2pm on Friday (CT US time).
Eric Thomason, a family friend, told philadelphia.com that he had repeatedly called Arline. He learned that his friend was dead when Arline’s mother called to tell the family that the young man found dead in Fairmount Park was her son.
“I’m still calling him,” Thomason said on Monday. “It hasn’t hit me yet.”

He said Arline loved cars and his job as a mechanic — he was drawn to “anything that went fast”.
Thomason said he had never met Smith, but that Arline sometimes spoke of her, and once talked of moving with her to Arizona, her home state. The two had dated on and off for some time, he said.
“He did not deserve to die like that,” he said.
