Two landlords, Samodu Jimoh Abudu, 56, and Akeju Salako, 70, have been charged before an Igbosere Magistrate’s Court in Lagos for allegedly breaking and entering a compound belonging to one Oluwasola Sangowawa to steal iron rods and granite valued at N3 million.
The accused persons were arraigned by the police on a three-count charge of felony to wit breaking, entry and stealing.
Police prosecutor, Inspector S. Molo, informed the court that the accused persons committed the offence on July 6 at Owode Ado Kekere, Langbasa, Ajah, Lagos.
The prosecutor told the court that the accused persons and others now at large, broke into the compound of the complainant to steal her iron rod and granite valued at N3 million without her consent and escaped.
However, they pleaded not guilty to the charge.
Magistrate A. O. Komolafe admitted the accused persons to N500,000 bail with two sureties, each in like sum, who must have proof of tax payment to Lagos State government.
The magistrate also directed that one of the sureties must be a blood relation to the accused and adjourned the case till September 14 for mention.
