MADONNA made sure that all eyes were on her in a sheer black outfit that left very little to the imagination as she attended the 2016 Met Gala in New York.
This year’s theme at the annual bash was Manus x Machina: Fashion In An Age Of Technology.
While many of the star-studded guests adhered closely to this with metallic materials and accents proving popular, some like Rebel Heart singer Madonna were in a league of their own.
The 57-year-old stood with her hands defiantly on her hips and a broad smile across her face as she posed on the arrivals carpet.
No matter their angle, snappers were guaranteed an eyeful with Madge’s custom Givenchy gown, which featured cut-out panels covered with lace across her bum and boobs.
Joined by the brand’s creative director Riccardo, Tisci, she teamed the look with a pair of sexy skin-tight knee-high boots.
Bandages made from the same PVC material were also wrapped firmly around her arms and thighs.
According to Vogue, this was “inspired by the therapeutic kinesiology tape she wears for her fatigued muscles on tour.”
Her blonde hair was worn in long beachy waves and adorned with an intricate chain headpiece.
Taking to Instagram afterwards, she uploaded a snap of herself with the words “NO F**** TO GIVE” written at the bottom.
Madonna of course was not the only frocky horror story at the biggest fashion event of the year.
Also ranking low in the style stakes were the Haim sisters, Alana, 24, Danielle, 27, and Este, 30.
They too decided to opt for all-over lace, but unlike Madonna there was just a bit too much of it.
The material swamped their slender frames and their co-ordinating gowns appeared to have been crafted from old net curtains.
Solange Knowles, 29, appeared to give a nod to big sister Beyonce’s recently released album Lemonade in an elaborate yellow ensemble.
Either that or she was channelling popular children’s character and fellow New Yorker Big Bird from Sesame Street.
Meanwhile, Anaconda star Nicki Minaj, 33, and fashion designer Jeremy Scott, 40, seemed to be ready for Halloween.
Busty Nicki was practically bursting out of her halter-neck dress, which was covered in crystal faux buckles and sparkle embellishments.
Friend to the celebs Jeremy had customised a black suit jacket and trousers with crystals creating the look of a skeleton.
He added further to the drama by stretching the design down to his shoes.
