DSS stopped me from greeting Buhari, Murray-Bruce laments
Senator Ben Murray-Bruce has accused operatives of the Department of State Security of preventing him from getting close to President Muhammadu Buhari during a dinner at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Monday.
A Peoples Democratic Party Senator representing Bayelsa East Senatorial District, Murray-Bruce has openly criticised several decisions by the Buhari-led All Progressives Congress government.
The Senator has been criticised for taking to the social media to criticise the government rather than opting for diplomatic channels.
However, when he approached the President at the dinner, he met a brick wall in the DSS.
Two hours earlier, Murray-Bruce had twitted pictures from the event with no indication of the friction that was ahead.
Mocked by a Twitter user for trying to reach Buhari after the criticisms, Murray-Bruce said last night’s development showed that the President was in danger of being shielded from reality.
