By Chimaobi Nwaiwu Nnewi—Former President General of Onitsha Markets Amalgamated Traders Association, OMATA, Chief Ozoh Anaekwe has accused the Federal Government, Department of State Services and other law enforcement agencies of pampering and treating the Fulani herdsmen with kids gloves, while being hard on non violent Indigenous People of Biafra IPOB and Movement for the Actualization of Sovereign State of Biafra, MASSOB.
Addressing newsmen yesterday in Onitsha, Chief Anaekwe accused the Federal Government of not being interested in the security of other parts of Nigeria, except those in Northern Nigeria, and accused the DSS boss in Nigeria of being biased in his job . He said that any responsible government or agency should not be selective in giving people security, but noted that the Federal Government and the DSS including other security agencies have all failed in that direction and should bury their heads in shame. The former OMATA boss called on the South East and South South people of Nigeria to boycott eating cows to register their protest to the Federal Government against the activities of the Fulani herdsmen, adding that he has resolved in his family that they will not eat cow meat for one year to mourn those killed by the Fulani herdsmen, adding that if they continue their killings after one year, they will extend their boycott. “If a leader wants to give his people security of lives and property, he will first of all budget for information, because it is through this you know what is on ground. What is happening in the country is that the All Progressives Congress, APC government is only interested in recovering money, while not being interested in the security of people, except those in the North. “We are forced to ask if the lives of those in the Northern part of the country are more important than those in other parts, and if money is more important than the lives of the people in those states their security has been abandoned by the government and security agents? What is the work of DSS and other law enforcement agents if 500 people can gather from the Northern states to the South East, enter into the bush and from the bush invade communities and destroy whatever they see there?.”
