A FOOTBALL fan’s joy soon turned to agony as he had to undergo emergency surgery following his wild celebration of Arsenal’s late winner against Leicester City.
Scott Woods uploaded a picture to social media to reveal the extent of his celebrations after Danny Welbeck secured the Gunners a vital win on Sunday.
The Gooners supporter was left in pain after the injury-time strike, and when his stomach was hurting and he felt unwell the next day he knew he had done some serious damage
Woods decided to go to hospital, and he was told he needed immediate surgery as he had suffered a hernia.
Woods said: “I was jumping around with my dad and hugging my dad. Felt under the weather on Monday and then had to go to hospital in the middle of the night last night.”
The result ensured Arsenal closed the gap on Leicester to just two points at the top of the Premier League table.
But if Arsene Wenger’s men go on to claim their first title for 12 years, Woods admits he will have to tone down his celebrations.
Speaking to the Metro, Woods added: “After this I think I’m going to be taking it a bit easier for a while.
“But in reality it’ll be something similar I’d imagine. Not sure the hernia was worth the 15 minutes of fame.
“If Arsenal win the league it will be!”
