A GIRL who was presumed dead has been found 10 years later playing a computer game in an internet cafe.
Xiaoyun (or ‘Little Cloud’), now 24, was just 14-years-old when she ran away from her parents following an argument with her mum.
Police were called to the internet cafe after they heard reports she was spotted sleeping there in the Zhejiang province, China.
She was found playing games there and then taken to a local police station where she was questioned by officers and her identity card was found to be a fake.
She admitted she left home because of a row with her mum about skipping classes and had been relying on hand-outs from the cafe staff and customers for ten years.
According to a local newspaper, after they were unable to find the original missing person’s report, the police contacted the girl’s parents.
Her parents said they had almost given up hope of seeing their daughter again, “I’ve dreamt of her coming home countless times,” her mum said.
Her mum told the Qianjiang Evening News she had not changed her phone number since Xiao Yun left home, in the hope that she would contact her.
She said: “I have a stubborn personality and a short temper, so I used to scold her. But it’s been 10 years and now she’s an adult. I will never scold her again.”
