Cruise, along with others like John Travolta, Kelly Preston, Kirstie Alley, Laura Prepon, Jenna Elfman and Australian Kate Ceberano are some of the more high profile members of the church.
“You’re also going to hear from Katie Holmes, the former wife of Tom Cruise. [And] what she is now saying about Leah,” US ABC’s Dan Harris teased viewers.
The special on Remini is set to air in the US later today.
Holmes reportedly left Scientology in order to protect her daughter Suri, over whom she has primary custody.
Remini, who starred in the US sitcom The King of Queens, penned a book about the notoriously secretive church and revealed that she left after growing suspicious of its leader, David Miscavige.
In a preview of her US ABC interview she said that she once got in trouble with church officials for joking with Cruise and Holmes. She said she was invited to their home to teach the couple how to salsa dance.
“He was like, forcibly kissing Katie, And I said, ‘Hey, get a freaking room.’ And uh, well, I was written up for that,” said Remini.
This is a reference to “knowledge reports” which are common in the church and require the member to submit to pseudo-psychotherapy sessions afterwards known as “auditing”.
Remini, who was brought into the church as a child by her mother, also told ABC how important Cruise was to the religion.
“Being critical of Tom Cruise is being critical of Scientology itself … you are evil,” she said.
