Jodie Arias: Rapper Kareem Williams in phone call supporting killer

SHE became known as the most hated woman in America.
But Jodie Arias, who was convicted in 2013 of the brutal slaying of her boyfriend, has hit back at her critics saying “haters are gonna hate” as well as revealing her cushy life behind bars.
Arias, 35, made headlines around the globe when she was arrested and later sentenced to life behind bars without parole over the 2008 murder of Travis Alexander, who was stabbed more than 30 times and had his throat cut in the shower.

Reports say his bloodied body lay there for five days before being discovered by friends.
Arias initially denied any involvement in the gruesome crime and her lawyers later tried to argue she was a domestic violence victim, claiming Alexander was a sexual deviant who physically and emotionally abused her.
Throughout her trial she maintained a cool exterior as details of her bizarre behaviour were relayed to the court.

Arias was even captured on film laughing, playing and doing a headstand in a police video shortly before being charged with murder.
Her 2013 trial was broadcast live and became must-watch television for millions of Americans with its tawdry revelations about her sexual relationship with Mr Alexander.
But in a phone call from Arizona’s Perryville prison for women to rapper Kareem “Lefty” Williams, Arias revealed how “she’s doing all right for the most part”, as well as detailing the food inside prison and even what TV stations she gets to watch.
The rapper produced a video about her to highlight awareness around post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and domestic violence and their 15-minute conversation between Arias and Williams, made two weeks ago, was obtained by Radar Online.
When Williams asked how she was doing, reflecting on the amount of hate levelled at her from the general public, Arias was non-pulsed, even hitting back at them.

“It’s all good,” she said. “If this is what it is like to be hated, then keep hating!”
“I’ve had so much love coming in my direction I can’t even respond to it now.”
She told the rapper the food wasn’t great, comparing it to hospital food, but gave the chicken fajitas she had for dinner a massive nod of approval.
“We had chicken fajitas here tonight,” she said during the upbeat conversation.
“Really good. A big old pile of caramelised onions, some bell peppers, like, all the works.”
Arias also revealed how inmates get a hot dinner on weekends but usually a cold meal such as sandwiches during the week.

She also told him she gets to watch a good range of TV stations including ABC, CBS, PBS, FOX and CNN.

Arias was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of release in April last year, ending a case that attracted worldwide attention with its salacious and gory details.
In sentencing Arias, Maricopa County Superior Court Judge Sherry Stephens said the crime “was especially cruel” and “involved substantial planning and preparation”.

Arias killed Alexander, 30, in what prosecutors said was retaliation for his desire to break off the relationship.
Alexander was found dead in the shower of his home in Mesa, Phoenix, Arizona, in June 2008.
Arias initially denied any involvement but it later emerged she drove to Utah to meet up with another romantic interest.
Explicit photographs were also recovered from a digital camera found in Alexander’s washing machine showed the murder occurred after a sexual act between Arias and her dead lover.
They had photographed each other naked in bed, and Arias had photographed Alexander in the shower where he was found. One photo even showed his bloody body lying on the floor.
Arias was arrested weeks later.

She narrowly avoided the death penalty after two separate juries couldn’t decide if she should lose her life over the crime.
While Arias’ life may seem cushy, her existence is anything but, according to local broadcaster KPHO/KTVK.
Former spokesman for the Arizona Department of Corrections Barrett Marson said the maximum security unit where she will spend the rest of her days was far from comfortable.
“It’s certainly not penthouse living at its finest. It is living on the taxpayer dime, and it is sparse, to say the least,” he said.
Her 8.4m x 3.6m cement cell has a bunk, a sink, and toilet.
Arias gets around six hours a week of recreational activity but her outdoor activities largely take place behind bars in enclosed areas.
